The Opportunity
As a Crew Leader for our maintenance division, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing landscaping maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and enhancement of outdoor spaces. Working alongside a team of landscaping professionals, you will lead by example, coordinate activities, and ensure that projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and perform weekly landscape maintenance services including mowing, edging, line trimming, blowing, pruning, and bed care to ensure properties meet company quality standards.
Lead and perform periodic maintenance activities such as lawn fertilization
Monitor plant health, turf conditions, and irrigation performance; diagnose issues and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
Supervise and coordinate crew members to complete assigned routes efficiently, ensuring all scheduled properties are serviced on time and to specification.
Coordinate with the Operations Coordinator to ensure route efficiency and that all materials, equipment, and supplies are prepared, stocked, and available for daily operations.
Communicate proactively with management regarding route progress, service issues, client requests, and recommended enhancements or repairs.
Maintain accurate service records including work performed, materials used, and client notes using Aspire (company operations management system).
Train and mentor crew members on proper maintenance techniques, equipment use, safety procedures, and company standards.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed, maintaining a safe working environment for crew members, clients, and the public.
Conduct daily equipment checks, load trucks with necessary tools and materials, and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and secured.
Additionally, employees are expected to abide by all internal control & compliance practices to:
Safeguard assets from theft and misuse
Comply with business ethics, applicable laws and regulation
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
Periodically reconcile physical assets to accounting records
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 3 years of landscaping maintenance experience
Bilingual, preferred (English and Spanish)
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proficiency in landscaping maintenance techniques and equipment operation.
Knowledge of plant care and irrigation systems.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Availability to occasionally work weekend when weather prevents work during the week.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor in outdoor environments.
Ability to work in extreme conditions temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
