About the Role:
The Heavy Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of heavy machinery used for loading and unloading materials. This position is responsible for maintaining the flow of materials within the facility, which directly impacts productivity and operational success. The Loader Operator will work closely with other team members to coordinate loading schedules and ensure that all safety protocols are followed. Additionally, this role involves performing routine maintenance checks on equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. Ultimately, the Loader Operator contributes to the overall success of the operations by ensuring that materials are handled efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Operate heavy/agricultural equipment safely
- Verbal and Written Communication
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Clean MVR
- Dump truck and/or yard jockey experience is a plus, but not required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in heavy equipment operation.
- Experience in a warehouse or construction environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in material handling.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting, Climbing, Balancing, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Feeling, lifting to 50 lbs., Talking, Hearing, and Seeing
- The employee is subject to confined spaces.
- The employee is subject to outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather.
- The employee is subject to atmospheric conditions.
- The employee is subject to hazards: Including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat, or exposure to bio-solids.
- This position requires overtime.
