General Statement of Responsibilities:
The Doorman/Valet serves as one of the first points of contact for residents, families, and guests at Lantern Crest Senior Living. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming, safe, and professional environment while assisting with entry and exit, greeting and escorting residents and visitors, monitoring the front drive area, and providing valet services as needed. The role combines hospitality, safety awareness, and service excellence in alignment with Lantern Crest’s mission of providing dignified, resort-style living for seniors.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Warmly greet residents, families, and visitors upon arrival or departure, offering courteous and professionalassistance.Open doors,assistwith packages, walkers, or mobility devices, and escort residents or guests to vehicles or lobby areas as needed.Provide clear, respectful directions and informationregardingthe community and its amenities.Coordinate with the concierge and reception teams to ensure residents and guests receive prompt attention and service.Maintain a professional, polished appearance and demeanor consistent with Lantern Crest’s service standards.Safely and efficiently park, retrieve, and deliver resident and guest vehicles when valet coverage isrequired.Maintain vehiclelog, keys, and parking tagsin accordance withcommunity policy and liability standards.Verify driver’s license and insurance when necessary and follow established valet procedures to protect residents’ and guests’ property.Inspect vehicles for damage before and after parking;immediatelyreport any incident to a supervisor.Maintain traffic flow and safety in the driveway and parking areas, ensuring clear emergency access at all times.Monitor building entrances, exterior walkways, and front drive for unauthorized individuals, safety hazards, or unusual activity; report concernsimmediately.Assistduring emergencies, such as fire alarms, evacuations, or medical incidents, by directing first responders and ensuring clear access routes.Ensure compliance with Lantern Crest policies, resident rights, confidentiality rules, and California Community Care Licensing (CCL) regulations.Support the concierge desk by answering phones, relaying messages, or escorting guests when the lobby is busy.Enforce visitor check-in procedures and verify identification when necessary.Assistwithdelivering ofluggage, groceries,mail,or deliveries, ensuringtimelyhandling and coordination with residents or departments.Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and hospitality events asrequired.Maintain cleanliness and organization of front entry area,portecochere, and parking spacesdesignatedfor residents and guests.Identify, communicate, and follow up on maintenance needs, including lighting outages, door malfunctions, gate access issues, elevator concerns, and exterior safety risks to ensuretimelyresolution.Assistin implementing and reinforcing community-wide safety protocols, including weather-related precautions (wet floors, high heat conditions), trip hazard prevention, and proper signage placement.Maintain awareness of residents’ safety needs and respond with compassion and discretion.Participate in daily stand-up and department meetings to communicate key issues, share updates, andmaintainalignment with overall community goals.Maintain current knowledge of senior living, assisted living, and dementia-specific care through ongoing education.Worka flexible schedule as needed to support events, tours, and community outreach.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of hospitality, customer service, security, or valet experience preferred. Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hotel/resort environments strongly desired. Ability to operate various vehicle types safely, including sedans, SUVs, and accessible vans required.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record; must meet Lantern Crest’s insurance eligibility requirements.

Physical and Personal Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs (e.g., luggage, wheelchairs). Must tolerate outdoor conditions (sun, rain, or cold) for periods while performing valet or door service duties. Work is primarily outdoors and at the front entry area of the community, requiring frequent interaction with residents, family members, guests, and vendors. The Doorman/Valet represents Lantern Crest’s culture of warmth, dignity, and excellence in every encounter.
Compliance:
Each employee plays a key role in creating a compliance culture. Employees are expected to learn and comply with all Lantern Crest policies and procedures. One must have the ability to understand the implications and complexities of all compliance policies. Participation in all compliance training is mandatory and generally has a heightened awareness of policies and regulations that are specific to one’s department and position. All Lantern Crest employees are expected to report violations or suspected violations of compliance policies or regulations.
Other:
Applicants must successfully pass a pre-screening tuberculin skin test or x-ray and a urine drug screen test. Candidates will be required to undergo a physical to ensure health is adequate to perform all duties of the position. Applicants must complete application and authorization form, both must be submitted to Human Resources prior to the close date indicated. Applicants will be required to undergo a background check consisting of fingerprinting and criminal records check with DOJ and FBI.
