About This Position

Developer Advocate P2P

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Developer Advocate P2P in Canada.

This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, developer relations, and community building, focused on empowering developers working with peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies. You will act as a key bridge between external developer communities and internal product and engineering teams, ensuring tools and platforms are intuitive, well-documented, and aligned with real-world developer needs. The position combines hands-on coding with content creation, advocacy, and technical storytelling to drive adoption of innovative decentralized technologies. You will engage directly with developers through events, workshops, and online communities while shaping feedback loops that influence product direction. A strong emphasis is placed on education, enablement, and inspiring developers to build scalable P2P applications. This is a highly visible role where technical depth and communication skills come together to accelerate ecosystem growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with developers, open-source contributors, and P2P ecosystem communities.
  • Create high-quality technical content such as tutorials, documentation, demos, sample applications, and educational materials.
  • Design and deliver prototypes, reference implementations, and hands-on examples showcasing real-world P2P use cases.
  • Engage with developers through webinars, AMAs, hackathons, meetups, and online community interactions.
  • Collect, synthesize, and communicate developer feedback to product and engineering teams to improve tools and APIs.
  • Advocate for developer needs internally, influencing product roadmap decisions and improving developer experience.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and industry events, translating complex technical ideas into clear narratives.
  • Support cross-functional teams in launching developer-facing features, SDKs, and platform updates.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3–6+ years of experience in software development, developer relations, or technical advocacy roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js, with the ability to write production-level code.
  • Experience building and maintaining applications, APIs, or developer tools.
  • Proven ability to create technical content such as blogs, tutorials, videos, or documentation.
  • Experience speaking at events such as conferences, webinars, meetups, or internal technical sessions.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
  • Experience engaging with developer communities via GitHub, forums, or social platforms.
  • Strong understanding of developer experience principles and modern software development workflows.
  • Bonus: experience with React Native, Electron, open-source contributions, or AI-assisted development tools.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and industry standards.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge peer-to-peer and decentralized technologies.
  • Fully remote and global work environment with high autonomy and flexibility.
  • Strong culture of innovation, learning, and open collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Access to opportunities for public speaking, conferences, and global developer events.
  • Career growth in developer relations, product advocacy, and technical leadership.
  • Exposure to open-source ecosystems and advanced distributed system technologies.
  • Chance to directly influence product direction and developer experience at scale.
