Marketing and Communications Intern to join our team. This is a part-time position (from mid-May to mid-August) requiring approximately 25-30 hours per week, with some flexibility in scheduling.
This internship offers hands-on experience in hospitality marketing and member communications within a private country club environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develops and produces, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print promotional and communication materials for the organization.
· Responsible for conducting market research to identify opportunities for improvement and stay up to date with industry trends, helping shape the WSCC marketing strategies.
· Ensures that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization.
· Collaborates with Food and Beverage, Racquets, Golf, Swim, and other departments to understand communication needs.
· Plans, prepares, and distributes original promotional content such as articles, email, social media, and WSCC App posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization.
· Design and distribute monthly newsletter in conjunction with the Director of Member Services
· Design flyers, posters, social media posts, App, and eblasts for member events
· Assist with developing monthly content calendar for WSCC social media accounts, design social media posts, shoot videos for any social media posts, and post or schedule posts according to the content calendar
· Responsible for website content updates as needed including event calendar, photo updates, latest news, golf tournaments and results, racket sports schedules, etc.
· Attend and photograph WSCC events.
· Develops and distributes materials related to events, training, and internal communications.
· Foster positive relationships with club members, addressing inquiries, collecting feedback, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:Required Skills/ Abilities:
· Current student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field
· Basic photography skills required
· Interest in writing, storytelling, and visual communication
· Professional demeanor appropriate for a premier private club environment
· Strong understanding of confidentiality and discretion
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Effective team player, able to work with others on projects.
· Self-Starter, detail oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
· Organized, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Working knowledge of Publisher or other digital publication software preferred.
Education and Experience:
· Current student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field
· Creative expertise with developing and presenting social media messages across all primary social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube
