Job Summary
Wichita Tribal Enterprises, a subsidiary of Quivera Enterprises, seeks an Information Technology Specialist III who will provide support to the Indian Health Services.
The Information Technology Specialist III will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is responsible for owning and advancing multiple project priorities. This individual must be able to interact successfully with both internal and external clients to resolve issues and articulate client needs. The individual in this position thinks outside the box by developing and implementing innovative processes while adapting to additional process improvements. The Information Technology Specialist III must be proficient in requirements analysis, Requirements Management, Software Support, Software Testing, and Implementation. This individual will support people who are responsible for collecting, transmitting, sourcing, tracing, writing, and managing these requirements for each project in the portfolio
Key Responsibilities
- Establish complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces for the computer system(s) assigned
- Windows System Administration expertise, with demonstrable understanding of and ability to address applications and Interfaces, within a program team responsible for operational, upgrade, and replacement projects. Windows services implementations, infrastructure upgrades, and configuration management.
- Manage to meet client organization requirements and follow standardization protocols and processes.
- Effective system maintenance within standardized policies under regular review for updates and improvement, including configuration control, while improving the reliability and stability of critical health care operations throughout the program enterprise.
- Maintain file servers, access, and Security/System Monitoring Systems, and as required
- Address known and discovered system and application security vulnerabilities in compliance with policies, FISMA, and NIST, and apply countermeasures as needed.
- Analyze and troubleshoot system and application anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance
- Prepare the system for operational use and support operational tests
- Notify the customer when changes occur that might affect authorization accreditation
- Conduct the cybersecurity portion of the self-inspection checklist
- Review and provide technical and cybersecurity coordination on all Bodies of Evidence that make up the authorization package
- Ensure information systems and network appliances are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and practices
- Provide External Information System(s) Client Support
- Perform account creations, changes, & deletions on multiple authorization boundaries
- Perform Help Desk & troubleshooting activities using ITIL and approved ITSM
- Perform Hardware/Software System Configuration, upgrades, and modifications
- Perform system and application patching and update activities
- Collect and report on requirements metrics related to assigned applications and client-identified priorities.
- Maintain system documentation on SharePoint
- Coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Windows, UNIX, and Linux infrastructure hardware/software that support Health Information systems and applications
- Maintain/troubleshoot the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Health Information systems/applications, networks, and data through the analysis, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
- Implement Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures and maintain a DR site to requirements
- Test new applications and operating systems to ensure continued operability and functionality
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in a related technical discipline, certifications, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with requirements analysis and engineering using Software Development Life Cycle, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.
- CompTIA Security + Certification (Required)
- CompTIA Server + Certification (Required)
- CompTIA Cloud + Certification (Required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of the Indian Health RPMS EHR System and familiarity with InterSystems core products
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, including RDP
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps.
- Working knowledge of Disaster Recovery Policy implementation procedures
- Working knowledge of cloud-based architecture and environments
- Proven ability to work on a remote/distributed team.
- Experience with federal or public sector client projects and Health IT-related projects preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and analytic capabilities.
- Self-disciplined contributor who can adjust to changing priorities with minimal input
- Team player who works well with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Physical Demands – IT Office/Technical Role
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee, with or without reasonable accommodation.
This role is primarily office-based and requires prolonged computer use, including sitting, typing, and operating standard office equipment. Occasional walking, standing, bending, and reaching may be required to support equipment setup and troubleshooting. The employee must be able to lift up to 15 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting.
The employee must be able to communicate effectively and maintain visual acuity (close, distance, color, and depth perception). Occasional travel and extended hours may be required to support operational needs and deadlines.
Physical Demands – Construction / Field Role
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee, with or without reasonable accommodation.
This role is primarily performed in field or construction environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions. The employee must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and work on uneven terrain are required, including use of ladders and scaffolding. The employee must be able to reach, perform physical tasks, and lift up to 50 pounds.
The employee must be able to communicate effectively in active work environments and maintain required visual acuity. Travel and extended or irregular hours may be necessary to meet project requirements.
