We are seeking an enthusiastic computer nerd to join our R&D lab team focused on developing and testing cutting-edge tape library storage technologies. This role is perfect for a hands-on technologist looking to grow in the fields of Linux system administration, datacenter operations, Development, and QA automation.
As a key contributor in our R&D lab, you will support the automation of our Scalar Library product tests, develop and maintain Java-based test frameworks, and ensure the smooth operation of a high-performance lab environment. There are significant opportunities for development on various software tech stacks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in administering and maintaining Linux-based lab infrastructure (hardware and software). Host SCSI HBA configuration, tape drive and backup operation.
- Develop, run, and maintain Java-based QA automation tests for tape library systems. GWT framework experience.
- Monitor lab systems and test environments, troubleshoot failures, and ensure test reliability. Experience with robotic tape libraries.
- Collaborate with QA and Development engineering teams to validate new features, firmware updates, and hardware configurations.
- Manage inventory, including physical movement and installation of equipment (must be able to lift up to 45 lbs).
- Document lab processes, test results, and system configurations in Confluence.
- Experience with JIRA.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) administration, including file systems, services, and networking.
- Basic Java programming skills, especially for scripting and test development.
- Interest in systems testing, automation, or storage technology
- Ability to lift, rack, and cable equipment (up to 45lbs).
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Willing and able to come to our office in Centennial, CO Monday - Friday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, or CI/CD tools.
- GWT framework coding experience.
- Exposure to datacenter hardware or lab environments.
- Knowledge of storage concepts (SAN, NAS, backup systems, etc.).
- Scripting experience (Bash, Python, etc.) a plus.

Anticipated Base Salary Range: $60,000 - 80,000
The above pay range represents Quantum's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Pay within or outside of the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, knowledge/education, skills/abilities, internal equity, and budgetary considerations.
