Property Compliance Specialist-Columbia Heights Village
JOB TITLE: Property Compliance Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:The Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance with HUD and Low Income Housing Tax Credits. Individuals in this position should possess strong organization skills and a detail-oriented approach.
PRIMARY DUTIES include the following but are not limited to:
- Maintain proper maintenance of tenant files and computer records to ensure accuracy according to HUD and LIHTC regulations. This includes renewing of contracts for Section 8 participants, including interims and re-certification/review of income and household composition.
- Determination of eligibility for all new admissions in compliance with all financing programs.
- Monitoring of EIV master binders for compliance with federal regulations and requirements.
- Review all inspections/audits and assist with corrections and correspondence.
- Monitoring of re-certification notification letters in compliance with HUD and LIHTC regulations.
- Attendance at supervision meetings and departmental meetings as scheduled.
- Participate in all required company training requirements.
- Respond to inquiries, phone calls, correspondence, and email in a timely and responsive manner.
- Provide and coordinate training for site staff.
- Knowledge of PBS8 and HCV in addition to the HUD and LIHTC.
- Remain familiar with current U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ever changing Federal Regulations as they relate to LIHTC and Section 8 Housing programs
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years affordable housing compliance experience.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage a wide variety of tasks.
- Ability to work well under stressful conditions.
- Must be prompt and dependable.
- Strong computer literacy skills are essential to this position.
- Working knowledge of LIHTC and HUD programs required.
- Affordable Housing Certifications a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Able to work with minimum day to day supervision
- Must be able to travel as needed
