Principal Architect AI Systems & Engineering

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Architect AI Systems & Engineering in the United States.
In this role, you will lead the design and development of scalable systems that power advanced AI-driven security and compliance solutions. You will architect full-stack applications and cloud-native infrastructures that enable intelligent automation and enterprise-grade AI workflows. Working closely with engineering, data, and product teams, you will help translate complex technical requirements into robust, production-ready systems. This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic architecture leadership, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across modern distributed environments. You will also play a key role in mentoring engineers and defining best practices for development, DevOps, and cloud engineering. Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using technologies such as Python and TypeScript to support advanced AI-driven workflows and automation systems.
  • Architect and implement secure, high-performance RESTful APIs that enable seamless communication between services and enterprise platforms.
  • Build and manage cloud-native microservice architectures on AWS, leveraging container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes to ensure scalability and resilience.
  • Implement modern DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated deployments, and monitoring frameworks to streamline software delivery.
  • Develop automation frameworks and engineering tools that reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency across AI and compliance systems.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate microservices with analytics platforms and large-scale data pipelines supporting AI applications.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices, governance policies, and cloud infrastructure standards.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance to guarantee reliability, availability, and scalability of deployed solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams while contributing to architecture standards and engineering best practices.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in software development with strong expertise across backend, frontend, and cloud or DevOps engineering environments.
  • Proficiency in Python, with additional experience in TypeScript or similar modern programming languages considered a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs for scalable applications.
  • Hands-on experience working with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and EKS.
  • Strong background in Kubernetes and containerized microservice architectures deployed in production environments.
  • Expertise in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipeline design and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience integrating systems with large-scale data platforms, analytics systems, or data engineering pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Professional cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are highly valued.
  • Additional experience in AI automation frameworks, cybersecurity, compliance engineering, or regulated industries is considered a plus.
