This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the full spectrum of accounting operations in a fast-growing, high-performance environment. You will manage month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounts payable, while ensuring compliance and accuracy across all financial activities. This position partners closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, driving process improvements and operational efficiency. You will lead a small team, mentor staff, and implement best practices to maintain audit-ready records. Success in this role directly supports strategic decision-making, scalability, and the overall financial health of the organization. Accountabilities:- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, reviewing general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies.
- Oversee and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant execution of accounting tasks.
- Manage accounts payable, vendor setup, invoice processing, payment runs, reconciliations, and 1099 reporting.
- Administer expense management and corporate card processes, reviewing submissions, coding transactions, and ensuring compliance with policies.
- Collaborate with FP&A to prepare financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
- Maintain and improve internal accounting documentation, SOPs, playbooks, and internal controls to ensure audit readiness.
- Lead ad-hoc accounting projects, process improvements, and system enhancements to increase operational efficiency.
- Ensure tax compliance in collaboration with external advisors and support operational initiatives through financial analysis and reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant certifications are a plus.
- 710+ years of accounting or financial operations experience, with at least 2 years managing month-end close and revenue/expense processes.
- Experience in SaaS, startup, or high-growth environments strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ASC 606, audit preparation, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QBO/Rillet, Ramp), Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups), and familiarity with CRM/sales platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
