About the role:

Revalia is pioneering Human Data Trials — a new paradigm for accelerating translational medicine by linking donated human organs to cutting-edge research. Our platform provides biotech, pharma, and medtech innovators with unparalleled access to human biology at scale, reducing reliance on animal models and speeding the path to patients.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Laboratory Manager to lead and optimize the daily operations of our Data Generation Laboratory. In this pivotal role, you will oversee laboratory workflows, inventory, and equipment maintenance to ensure the highest standards of scientific rigor and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in biomedical science, strategic thinking, and self-motivation to drive innovation and support transformative research in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.

Location

This position is on-site at our office in New Haven, CT 5 days per week.

Technical Skill Requirements

  • Experience in sample management, including tracking, storage, and labeling of biological and chemical samples.
  • Familiarity with histological techniques such as tissue fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, spectrophotometers, autoclaves, pH meters, and histology-related equipment.
  • Familiarity with data analysis software or laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with scientific teams to support the design and setup of experiments; ensure resources, personnel, and instrumentation are properly aligned for project execution.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental protocols, results, and observations.
  • Perform routine testing, sample analysis, and quality control checks according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage biological and chemical samples, including proper labeling, storage, tracking, and documentation.
  • Prepare, fix, and embed samples for histological analysis, including sectioning, staining, and mounting tissue specimens for microscopic examination
  • Assist in histology procedures such as Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF).
  • Ensure the proper maintenance, calibration, and safe operation of all laboratory equipment, coordinate repairs, validations, and documentation of service logs in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee inventory systems for reagents, consumables, and supplies; manage procurement processes, vendor relationships, and budget tracking to ensure continuous availability of critical materials.
  • Oversee adherence to SOPs, biosafety protocols, and regulatory guidelines; lead regular safety and best laboratory practice trainings.
  • Collaborate with research teams to support ongoing projects, providing technical expertise and hands-on assistance.
  • Prepare data for analysis and assist in compiling reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications

Preferred: Bachelors degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline and 1+ years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the biotech or life sciences industry.

Accepted: Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline and 3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting.

The pay range for this role is:
80,000 - 100,000 USD per year(New Haven, CT)
