The Analyst will serve as a technically proficient and business-savvy resource with strong expertise inPower BIandMicrosoft Dynamics CRM. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, supporting cross-functional data needs, and ensuring data integrity and accessibility for internal stakeholders. The Analyst will also play a key role in training and upskilling staff, supporting data governance initiatives, and collaborating with IT and business units to improve reporting pipelines and infrastructure.
$83,200 - $88,400
Note: The NJEDA currently offers a hybrid work schedule for up to 2 days of telecommute work from home. To participate, you will be required to have high speed home internet access and a managers approval. This program does not supersede the "New Jersey First Act", which requires newly hired NJEDA employees to establish and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and build interactive Power BI dashboards supporting operational and strategic decision-making.
- Maintain and update existing Power BI dashboards to ensure continued accuracy, relevance, and performance.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on data sources, data definitions, and reporting best practices.
- Collaborate with business units to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver actionable insights.
- Conduct data audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Support ad hoc data requests and provide training to internal users on self-service reporting tools.
- Partner with IT and data governance teams to improve data infrastructure and reporting pipelines.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to support change management and data strategy alignment.
- Promote teamwork and communication to encourage a collaborative and customer-focused work environment.
- Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI, with demonstrated experience in developing, optimizing, and maintaining complex dashboards and data models that support strategic decision-making.
- Proficiency of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, including hands-on experience creating and managing dashboards, system views, and advanced finds, as well as ensuring data integrity and supporting user adoption across departments.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment among division and EDA staff.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop instructional material that can be easily understood, including training and upskilling staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in a data analytics or reporting role.
- Ability to work with large data sets.
- Proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling).
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Advanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience

Certificates and Licenses Required
- Staff are required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essentials duties of the position.
