JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for support of General Ledger, specifically for month end /yead end closing, account reconciliations and analysis and financial reporting. This position will also assist Accounts Receivable department with special projects and initiatives.
Essential Functions:
• Account reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, analysis and issue resolutions related to those accounts
• Month-end/year end close activities including journal entries, corporate reporting and IFRS package preparation
• Inter and intracompany eliminations, reporting and reconciliations
• SAP month end processing including assessments, allocations, and foreign exchange valuation.
• Assist with IFRS reporting packages preparation
• Communicate to central finance team on status of monthly closing including the preparation and submission of SEM German GAAP reporting
• Assist other areas of finance (primarily AR) with various projects and initiatives
• Assist with KMPG (interim/final) audit requests
• Special projects as assigned by manager
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and deep understanding of account reconciliations, accounting principles and procedures.
Experience:
• 1-4+ years of experience in general accounting within a manufacturing or public accounting environment.
• SAP or other ERP experience strongly preferred.
Skills:
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
• Able to confidently and efficiently correspond to all levels of management.
• Advanced independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Shows commitment to process improvement.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field required.
• Accounting strongly preferred.
