About the role
The IT Cloud product suite envisions a world where a few IT-focused administrators can manage thousands of employees and meet security, compliance, finance, and employee experience requirements to scale their company infinitely while their employees seamlessly access their work through software and devices. We aim to enable IT professionals to support company growth while providing the tools for a delightful employee experience through their devices & software.
As a Director of Engineering in IT Products, you will be responsible for leading the team that enables the next generation of unified device management for Apple and Windows devices. The role also oversees the IT Inventory Management capability that allows companies to buy, sell, retrieve, and store devices anywhere globally with ease. With Inventory Management, it’s trivial to automate device configuration and shipment to incoming employees and automate offboarding employees by automatically sending offboarded users with a retrieval box, wipe, clean, test, and warehouse each returned device.
Rippling’s unique platform enables IT Admins to securely manage identity, access, devices, and physical device logistics all from one easy-to-use platform.
What you will do- Lead Complex Initiatives: Orchestrate the execution of large-scale technical projects from conception to delivery, navigating ambiguity and ensuring alignment across multiple engineering streams.
- Bridge Product and Engineering: Leverage strong product intuition to partner effectively with cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions that solve real customer problems.
- Drive Product Realization: Take ownership of the full product lifecycle, transforming abstract ideas into tangible, high-impact products that drive business value.
- Thrive in Velocity: Execute with precision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing immediate product needs with long-term architectural health.
- Build High-Performing Teams: Recruit top-tier talent, organize effective team structures, and foster a culture of motivation, ownership, and technical growth.
- 10+ years of engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact products and navigating complex technical landscapes.
- 6+ years of engineering management experience, specifically in building, scaling, and leading high-performing teams through periods of rapid growth.
- Technical Mastery: Deep hands-on experience designing distributed systems and APIs, with a strong working knowledge of modern cloud-based SaaS architectures.

The pay range for this role is:
