About This Position

TITLE: EVS / Security Rep STATUS: Non-Exempt

LOCATION: All Locations REPORTS TO: EVS Lead/Facilities Manager

SUMMARY:

Maintain cleanliness within all patient and office areas to include but not limited to: Maintains cleanliness of carpets, chairs, and hard floor surfaces. Maintains all carpets, tile floors areas using the latest techniques available. Following established protocol, responsible for calling the alarm company at the end of each shift and giving them personal pass code. Check equipment for safety hazards and general service. If there are safety problems or any other unsafe conditions, contact their supervisor. Inspection must be completed before work begins and at the end of each shift. Thoroughly clean equipment daily and place in the designated area for storage. Shampoo carpets and chairs in all public areas and offices etc. as assigned. Strip and wax hard floor surfaces. Any work requiring use of a ladder. Clean walls, vents, light fixtures, and windows.

Monitor entrances, exit and access points of the premises to prevent unauthorized entry and maintain a secure environment. Conduct regular security patrol of the premises, including interior and exterior areas, to deter and identify potential security threats. Ensure the safety and security of employees, patients and visitors by implementing and adhering to established security procedures. Respond promptly to alarms, incidents and emergencies, taking appropriate action as necessary and coordinating with appropriate personnel and authorities. Maintain accurate records of security related incidents, activities and reports for future references and analysis.

Will be responsible for ensuring all employees exit the facility safely at the end of their shift. Will be responsible to close the facility at the end of the day.

May perform other job-related duties as necessary for the efficient operation of SDMI.

Could float to any facility to work based upon business needs.

Shift: Shift could vary based upon location. Expect to work 8.5-hour shift between the hours of noon- 11:30pm

MINIMUM SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIREMENTS:

• High school education or equivalent. Housekeeping experience preferred.

• Ability to remain calm and composed in an emergency situation.

• Ability to read, write and speak English.

• Must be able to follow the chain of command.

• Any employee who discovers, is directly involved in or is responding to an event/occurrence/risk is required to complete or direct the completion of an occurrence report within 24 hours of event/occurrence/risk.

• My job performance, including current competencies will be reviewed by my supervisor on a periodic basis. If my job performance/ current competencies are not (or continue to not be) at required level this could result in additional training and/or disciplinary action.

• Demonstrate punctuality by reporting to work on time/satisfactory attendance record that complies with SDMI attendance policy.

• Take full responsibility for all functions within job description and assures that all functions are completed before leaving SDMI at the end of the shift. Can tolerate the presence and/or use of chemicals, cleaners and solvents.

• Ability to move, transport and operate heavy-duty or industrial type equipment such as vacuums, blowers, extractors and rotary shampooers.

• Able to sustain physical and mental demands; standing, walking, and working at various heights up to approximately 6 ½ feet above the floor.

• Able to move trash cart from work areas to dumpster and unload.

• Report any existing conditions that do not meet company standards.

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness on a constant basis.

• Utilize supplies and equipment effectively.

• Assume responsibility for updating knowledge of current SDMI department policies and procedures, protocol and practices.
