Position: Weigher (Day Shift: 6:00 am-4:30 pm)

Position Description:

Precise, safe, hygienic, & standardized weighing of product according to recipe.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Operates scales and scale software systems to ensure that ingredient quantities are processed per assigned Part, Lot, and ID numbers.
  • Inspects materials for any foreign objects that may adulterate the batch.
  • Records all required information as prompted by the scale systems and other physical documents.
  • Reports in writing reasonable justification for low product yields.
  • Prepares rooms, equipment, and tools to process products to standards.
  • Keeps cleaning tools and sanitation substances outside the weighing rooms and maintains their cleanliness and organization.

  • Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Competencies/skill Qualifications:

  • Ability to speak, write, read, and comprehend in the English language.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must exert up to 90 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
