About This Position

ROUSTABOUT CREW LEAD

Job Summary:

The Roustabout Crew Lead provides leadership and operational support in the construction and maintenance of oilfield facilities. This role is responsible for transporting equipment, operating machinery, and supervising roustabout crews in the absence of the Roustabout Foreman. The position ensures safe operations, compliance with company and regulatory requirements, and contributes to the success of field construction projects. Working outdoors in challenging conditions, the Roustabout Crew Lead combines technical skill, crew oversight, and hands-on labor to support Dugan Production’s mission.

Essential Duties:

  • Safely operate and drive roustabout trucks and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Operate backhoes and other heavy machinery as needed for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Oversee roustabout crews and provide supervision in the absence of the Roustabout Foreman.
  • Follow all safety procedures when transporting and handling equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment before use to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency systems are in working order.
  • Maintain accurate logs of hours, service, and vehicle condition in compliance with regulations.
  • Load, secure, and unload cargo and equipment safely, using ropes, blocks, binders, and covers as necessary.
  • Assist with construction, repair, and maintenance of oilfield facilities, including foundations, flow lines, and equipment installation.
  • Perform minor vehicle maintenance and emergency roadside repairs when required.
  • Correspond and coordinate with supervisors, crews, and other drivers using radios or other communication tools.
  • Support roustabout tasks when not engaged in driving or supervisory duties.
    • Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Knowledge of oilfield construction, transportation safety, and equipment operation.
  • Ability to operate and maintain trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to supervise roustabout crews.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude for troubleshooting and basic vehicle/equipment maintenance.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety, accountability, and integrity in all work tasks.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years of experience preferred.
  • Class A CDL required.
  • Must meet Driver Acceptability Profile requirements (driving position).
Working Conditions:
  • Field-based work with frequent exposure to outdoor weather, uneven terrain, and oilfield conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, squatting/kneeling, and bending; occasional sitting.
  • Constant lifting of up to 30 lbs.; occasional lifting of 31–100 lbs.
  • May be required to perform tasks in challenging field environments, including confined spaces and around heavy machinery.
