Distribution Manager at GA Foods – Hamilton, Ohio

We are hiring a Distribution Manager – Food Service to lead a team of 10+ employees in the Hamilton, OH area. The operation provides food service to multiple customers in the local region via our fleet of vans and trucks. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and Distribution. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with the possibility of occasional weekend work due to customer demands or surge business. The ideal candidate must thrive under pressure and in fast-paced work situations.

The ideal candidate will have prior management experience in high-volume settings and demonstrate eagerness, enthusiasm, optimism, and passion. This includes persistence, increased effort in the face of obstacles, pursuit of excellence, urgency, and ambition. Candidates must also build and maintain professional, positive relationships with staff, managers, customers, and vendors. Being approachable, respectful, and empathetic is key.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, including:

Food purchasing and menu planningMaintaining required records: sanitation logs, production, inventory, expenses, meal counts, and personnel filesFull P&L accountabilityTruck and fleet maintenanceEnsuring proper sanitation procedures are followedManaging food service staff including cooks, preparers, and driversEnsuring food safety and quality standardsResponding to customer feedbackPlanning and budgeting for meals and equipmentHiring, training, and onboarding employeesMaintaining employee records, payroll, and compliance paperworkEnsuring ERP/NAV/WIZZY/ADP system data is accurate

Additional responsibilities include:

Delivering exceptional customer service and building a customer-focused teamEnsuring facility cleanliness and presentationMonitoring and controlling labor costsProviding employee training and developmentApplying food safety and HACCP best practicesExhibiting strong leadership, communication, and time management skillsPerforming other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; college education preferredMinimum 5 years of management experience requiredCPFM preferredValid Class E driver’s licenseMust be able to obtain and maintain DOT certificationMust pass a Level II background checkPrior experience in food or culinary services (restaurants, catering, institutional services, etc.)
