About This Position



Nursery Person - Equipment Operator, Hardscapes
Union Position


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma plus 2-year certificate in related field.
  • Two years’ experience in operation of nursery/farm machinery and equipment including tractors, skid loaders, forklift, front-end loader, dump truck, tree space, road grader semi-tractor/trailer, and/or others.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs regularly
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Training in CPR and First Aid desirable
  • Landscape hardgoods knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions

Duties:
  • Load soil, rock, mulch, natural stone and concrete materials on trucks and trailers
  • Operate all equipment in a safe, responsible manner
  • Perform routine light maintenance on equipment
  • Pull orders in a timely manner
  • Work with buyers and sales team to keep yard stocked and inventory accurate
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Perform all Nursery Person duties as directed.
  • Train other staff as needed.
  • Perform equipment and facilities maintenance and housekeeping duties as directed.
  • Perform other duties as directed. Assist in other areas as needed.

Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday – Friday, April-November. Overtime and flexibility required during peak season. This position is subject to seasonal reassignment.
