This role is a hands-on leadership position at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data engineering, and cybersecurity innovation. You will guide a high-performing technical team responsible for building scalable data systems and deploying AI/ML solutions that strengthen offensive security capabilities. Operating in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, you will define technical direction while remaining deeply involved in execution. Your work will directly impact how advanced data pipelines and machine learning models enhance threat detection, vulnerability discovery, and analyst productivity. This is a highly collaborative role, partnering across engineering, product, and security research teams. You will also help shape the future of AI-driven cybersecurity products by integrating cutting-edge generative AI and machine learning systems into production environments.
You will lead the technical vision and execution of AI and data initiatives while managing and mentoring a specialized team of data scientists and ML engineers. Your focus will be on building scalable, secure, and production-ready AI systems that support cybersecurity use cases and business objectives.
- Define and lead the technical roadmap for AI, ML, and data systems, ensuring alignment with product and security strategy
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers
- Oversee end-to-end development of AI/ML systems, including data pipelines, model training, deployment, and monitoring
- Design and optimize large-scale data architectures for high-volume and sensitive cybersecurity datasets
- Implement and improve MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, observability, and model evaluation frameworks
- Guide integration of generative AI and LLM technologies (e.g., AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic) into secure environments
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure scalability, compliance, and multi-tenant security standards
- Act as a technical liaison across product, engineering, and security research teams to translate requirements into AI-driven solutions
- Oversee API design and system integrations enabling AI agents to interact with internal platforms and datasets
You bring strong technical depth in data science, machine learning, and data engineering, along with proven leadership experience in building and scaling AI-driven systems. You are comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels, with the ability to guide architecture while mentoring teams and influencing stakeholders.
- 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning engineering, or data engineering
- At least 2+ years of technical leadership or team management experience
- Strong expertise in Python and AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, Step Functions, Bedrock)
- Deep understanding of ML/AI systems, including LLMs, RAG architectures, prompt engineering, and MLOps
- Experience building and deploying end-to-end machine learning pipelines in production
- Strong knowledge of secure, scalable data architectures for large and sensitive datasets
- Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams and communicate complex concepts clearly
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field preferred
- Experience in cybersecurity, offensive security workflows, or regulated environments is a strong plus
- Competitive salary range: $137,600 – $212,850 (US-based estimate)
