Production Technician – USA

Location: TIGER Drylac USA – St. Charles, IL
Department: Production
Reports to: Production Manager - USA

About the Role

TIGER Drylac is seeking an experienced Production Technician. This role is responsible for the technical advancements and efficiency improvements for all north America.

The successful candidate will lead teams, implement preventive strategies, and collaborate with production operations, safety, and engineering teams to advance efficient manufacturing projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lean Manufacturing Management

  • Coordination and support product transfer or revisions based on:
    • Changing equipment technologies
    • Changing raw materials
    • Changing of color standards (i.e. RAL/Pantone/HKS)
  • Adjustment of formulation in collusion with PE/LAB.
  • Maintenance/Management of the Process Data Management with proxy for TDC & TDM
  • Elimination of problematic products manufactured in the Drylac Production
  • Execution of root cause analysis, and definitions of actions according to the PDCA model.
  • Support production trials, and act as a spokesperson for production.
  • Analyze the Off-Spec Drylac production material list. Conduct root cause analysis of why productions are outside of the agreed product range and set actions according to the PDCA model.
  • Analyze Z3 Notifications. Conduct root cause analysis and set actions according to the PDCA model to reduce future product notifications.
  • Support the maintenance of the Drylac production shift changeover notifications.
  • Support with Drylac and Metallics production data analysis.
  • SAP Key user for Drylac Production.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects for production at TDU, TDC & TDM.

QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Associate degree in chemistry or process engineering preferred
  • LEAN experience required
Experience
  • 5+ years of production process manufacturing-related experience
  • Experience in multi-cultural environments is an asset.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment (extruders, mills, mixers)
  • Experience with SAP module
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Additional Knowledge
  • 5S, root cause analysis, Shanin, standard work, waste reduction, flow pull, value stream, TPM
  • Process improvement/continuous improvement knowledge
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ISO systems, and OSHA standards.
Languages
  • English (required)
  • Spanish considered a plus
Working Conditions
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Availability for occasional weekends and emergency on-call situations required
  • Work in a manufacturing plant environment with industrial equipment
