About This Position
Under the broad direction of the Senior Director, this position oversees technology operations for the Cancer
Center, including the following functional areas:
• Data Center Services
• Client Services
• Telecommunications
• Network Engineering
• A/V and Conferencing Systems
• Biomedical Engineering
The incumbent is tasked with partnering with the Sr. Director on Strategy and Design and then executing the implementation and management of a reliable and secure technology infrastructure to support clinical, administrative, and research needs throughout all campuses. This includes support of remote and/or mobile access that is seamless and secure. This position is also in charged with development and maintenance of the IT Disaster Recovery Plan.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works directly with faculty, staff, leadership, and functional IT teams to provide oversight of IT Infrastructure & Operations.
- Recruits, manages, and develops IT management, engineers, analysts and consultants (as needed).
- Ensures IT standards and policies are well communicated and collaborated upon by all interested parties across the organization.
- Partners with other leaders, both within and outside of IT, to align organizational projects and initiatives with technology road maps and plans.
- Develops and implements communication plans to supply leadership, faculty, and staff with appropriate information concerning upcoming technology implementations and significant IT infrastructure changes.
- Reviews and approves multiple departmental budgets; negotiates contracts with external consultants/vendors.
- Oversees development of service management processes and promotes initiatives throughout the IT department that enhance service delivery.
Experience Required:
Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in Information Technology required.
Minimum 3 years leadership experience as supervisor, team lead, manager, or above required.
Bachelors degree required. Master's preferred.
