Job Description

Purpose/Description

The Department Supervisor 1 in the Senior Services Department is responsible for all aspects of Nutrition Program operations at the senior luncheon centers including supervising employees and volunteers, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, compiling data for reporting, coordinating communication, and performing other related functions.

Responsibilities

Required Tasks

• Supervise and train contractual employees and volunteers at luncheon centers in all Congregate and Home Delivered Meal delivery functions.
• Ensure level of staffing is maintained and necessary adjustments are made in daily personnel coverage for vacations/absences.
• Ensure that all food temperatures are properly maintained, portioned, and packaged for delivery to the homebound clients and on site service to congregate participants.
• Conduct staff meetings and Project Advisory Council meetings. Minutes must be prepared and distributed to all concerned personnel.
• Assist in the preparation of grants and contracts, planning and coordination of the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, Senior Funfest, and conduct annual client satisfaction surveys.
• Travel to various locations as required.
• Performing additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

Educational/Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience including handling multiple processes within timeframes and deadlines; or
• High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year supervisory experience and two (2) years of experience handling multiple processes within timeframes and deadlines; or
• Associate's degree and one (1) year relevant experience handling multiple processes within timeframes and deadlines; or
• Bachelor's degree in related field
• A Valid Driver's License and a safe and acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation
• ServSafe Certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
