About This Position

Registered Nurse - ICU

The Registered Nurse delivers expert, age-appropriate nursing care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, this role encompasses the full spectrum of patient care—from initial assessment and medication administration to care planning and problem identification.

As a RN, you’ll ensure care is aligned with Valleywise Health policies while advocating for patients and educating them on their health journey. You’ll also provide indirect supervision to support staff, contribute to team development, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.

This position is ideal for a seasoned nursing professional who thrives in a diverse healthcare setting and is passionate about delivering high-quality, cost-effective care. Beyond bedside excellence, the Advanced Clinical Nurse also plays a key role in advancing clinical practice through leadership, mentorship, and innovation.

Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39
*Eligible for a weekend shift differential of 8% of base rate
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a bachelor’s or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health, must have at least one year of Valleywise Health experience as an RN and be in good standing.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Additional certifications may be required to work in specialty areas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
