Job Summary: The Prepared Foods Lead is responsible for supporting the Prepared Foods Manager in overseeing daily operations of the department, with a focus on food quality, cleanliness, team leadership, and customer satisfaction. This individual plays a hands-on role in food preparation, inventory control, staff training, and upholding Green's Natural Foods high standards for organic and natural food offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
-Assist in daily operations of the Prepared Foods department, including hot bar, salad bar, grab-and-go, and deli offerings
-Lead by example in food preparation, sanitation, and customer service
-Ensure all prepared foods meet company standards for freshness, quality, presentation, and labeling
-Monitor food safety practices and compliance with health and safety regulations
-Support inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction
-Train and guide team members on food prep procedures, recipes, and store policies
-Collaborate with the Prepared Foods Manager on new recipe ideas, menu planning, and seasonal offerings
-Provide outstanding service to customers, answering questions about ingredients, dietary options, and sourcing
-Open and/or close the department as needed, following all operational procedures

Qualifications:
-Must be 18 years of age or older
-12 years of experience in food service, preferably in a grocery or natural foods environment
-Knowledge of organic, vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-conscious food preparation preferred
-ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
-Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
-Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
