DevOps AWS Engineer

AWS Engineer with strong technical leadership, hands-on AWS cloud architecture expertise, and a DevOps mindset.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of AWS services, infrastructure automation, networking, and security, as well as a proven track record of customer satisfaction and cloud deployment success.

This role requires excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

40% – Code and develop continuous automation/delivery processes and tools

25% – Design and build a hybrid cloud product to support a Managed Services model

20% – Solution design and architecture in support of customer assessments and sales engagements

15% – Train and educate staff; pursue self-training, professional growth, and continued education

Experience

8+ years of overall software engineering experience

5 years focused on AWS (cloud application development and deployment)

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

5+ years developing and deploying cloud applications with seamless integration, scalability, and performance tuning

Strong DevOps mindset with a customer-first approach

Proficiency with Git (Bitbucket), code reviews, branching, tagging, pipelines, and CI/CD (Jenkins)

AWS Architecture & Automation

Active participation in AWS architecture planning (data perimeter, SCPs, legacy account migration, tagging/IAM strategies)

Automated creation of AWS accounts with base infrastructure (IAM policies, S3 settings, VPC Flow Logs, AWS Config, tagging, EC2 DNS records, backups, metrics onboarding) while ensuring policy compliance

AI/ML experience: building generative AI solutions for automation, code generation, cost analysis, knowledge retrieval, and designing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with enterprise data sources
