We are seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care across surgical, inpatient, and outpatient settings.
Overview of responsibilities include but are not limited to:-
Assist attending surgeons as first assistant in surgical procedures and provide patient care under the supervision of attending physicians and specialists.

Conduct pre-operative history and physical exams, document findings, and communicate results to the surgical team.

Care for and manage wounds, incisions, drains, and superficial foreign bodies.

Assist with insertion of central lines, arterial lines, and epidurals as requested by physicians.

Prescribe medications and therapies under physician guidance, adhering to federal, state, and PA guidelines.

Participate in all aspects of surgical patient care, including patient transport, OR preparation, and positioning.

Ensure accurate documentation of patient care for billing, compliance, and reimbursement purposes.

Maintain communication with supervising surgeons and physicians regarding patient care, procedures, and departmental needs.

Attend in-service training, CME programs, and participate in quality improvement initiatives and Universal Protocol compliance.

Provide on-call coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Licenses/Registrations: Current Massachusetts Physician Assistant licensure. Current NCCPA certification.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant. Three years in a Professional Physician Assistant Role that includes Surgical First Assistant preferred.
Special Aptitudes/Activities: The PA must be able to provide effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide and follow both verbal and written instructions, and provide a conduit within the patient and medical/ nursing staff. They must relate effectively to adult and geriatric populations applicable to a culturally diverse, broad age spectrum population.
