The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity in our Finance department for an Accounting Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the month-end reporting and close process, as well as to lead the Accounts Payable team, all while driving the implementation of best-in-class processes.

What you get to do:

Financial Accounting

  • Manage the month-end reporting and close process within tight deadlines, including reviewing and posting journal entries and preparation of monthly reports.
  • Preparation of the monthly financial statement package, including consolidating multiple entities and preparing financial statements.
  • Manage the general ledger account reconciliations process for all accounts, including value added analysis and variance commentary.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts of working capital and cash flow.
  • Preparation of audit working papers and communicating with external auditors.
  • Implement process improvements, including preparation of process narratives and implementation of best practices.
  • Manage the transfer pricing process between Canada and US entities, including creating the required monthly reports, analysis and posting of all intercompany cross charges, and leading the preparation of the annual transfer pricing report.
  • Other duties as required, including foreign exchange translations, commodity tax compliance, general ledger administration, fleet vehicle management, and implementation of control initiatives.

Accounts Payable

  • Lead the Accounts Payable process, including approving payment runs, ensuring appropriate approval, and managing a team of 2 accounts payable associates.
  • Review overall Accounts Payable procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementation of best-in-class processes.
  • Administrate the purchase card and travel card program, including authorization, administration and reporting.

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or college.
  • Completion of the CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a finance role with similar responsibilities.
  • Experience in supervising or managing a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and identify opportunities for process and control environment improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP system, and PowerBI.
