About This Position

About the Role:

The CT Technologist-PRN Weekdays and Weekend Days and Nights plays a critical role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services during weekend shifts, ensuring continuous patient care and support. This position requires the technologist to operate computed tomography (CT) equipment proficiently to capture detailed images that assist physicians in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. The role demands adherence to safety protocols and quality standards to protect patients and staff while maintaining the integrity of imaging results. The technologist will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and workflow efficiency. Flexibility in working weekend day and night shifts is essential to meet the healthcare facility’s operational needs and provide uninterrupted imaging services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a focus on CT imaging.
  • Current certification as a CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
  • Valid state licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the United States.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CT imaging procedures, radiation safety, and patient care standards.
  • Ability to work independently during weekend day and night shifts with minimal supervision.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hospital or outpatient imaging center setting, particularly during weekend shifts.
  • Additional certifications in advanced imaging techniques or patient care.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital imaging software.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT scans on patients following established protocols and physician orders, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Operate and maintain CT imaging equipment, performing routine quality control and troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
  • Review images for clarity and accuracy before submitting them to radiologists for interpretation.
  • Maintain detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards to minimize exposure to patients, self, and other staff members.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and optimize imaging workflow during weekend shifts.
  • Respond promptly to emergency imaging requests and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Skills:

The required skills enable the CT Technologist to operate complex imaging equipment accurately and safely, ensuring diagnostic images meet clinical standards. Proficiency in patient communication and care is essential to prepare and reassure patients, especially during urgent or emergency imaging scenarios. Knowledge of radiation safety protocols is applied daily to protect patients and staff from unnecessary exposure. Preferred skills such as familiarity with EMR systems and advanced certifications enhance the technologist’s ability to manage patient data efficiently and perform specialized imaging procedures. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills facilitate effective collaboration with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless patient care during weekend shifts.
