Tasting Room Associate- Part-Time at Central City Brewing Company Ltd – Surrey, British Columbia

Central City Brewers and Distillers is a craft brewery in the business of developing and selling international award-winning premium craft beer and high-quality distilled spirits brewed without compromise. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, CCBD was voted Canada Best Brewery of the Year in 2010 and 2012. Its Red Racer brand has become a cult icon among craft beer enthusiasts throughout North America. Founded in 2003 as a brewpub and liquor store in downtown Surrey, CCBD celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013 with the grand opening of a brand new, 68,000 sq. ft. brewery and distillery on Bridgeview Drive. JOB SUMMARY

The Tasting Room Retail Associate is primarily responsible for providing outstanding customer service and performing cashier functions for Central City Brewers and Distillers. This is a part-time position for Closing Shift (afternoon and evenings)- 4 days a week (Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve in house dining guests in the tasting room
• Provide friendly and positive customer service to customers and visitors to the retail stores
• Perform accurate and timely cashier functions, including scanning and entering sales transactions, basic mathematical computations, making change and handling cash
• Perform required ID checks on customers and notifies management of violations, concerns, etc.
• Comply with all regulations regarding sales transactions and established procedures
• Restock shelves and fill coolers with new merchandise
• Perform periodic inventory of stock on hand
• Assists customers in selection of various brands of liquors, wines, etc., advises on quantity of purchases for special occasions, and helps customers with carry-outs
• Fill in at other Central City Brewers and Distillers liquor stores as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

• Serving it Right Certificate
• Must be nineteen (19) years of age
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Experience in operating a cash register and gathering change
• Experience in retail sales

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work in the store requires frequent bending and long periods of standing or walking
• This is a position that requires to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Physical demands requiring frequent manual lifting/moving of materials weighing 25kg
