RS&H is currently seeking an experienced traffic engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The successful candidate will have a proven track record leading and performing diverse and complex work in the areas of traffic engineering. This position will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote. As a technical expert you will have a key role in project work, while also cultivating relationships with existing and new clients. The successful candidate will have a proven track record leading and performing diverse and complex work in the areas of traffic engineering. - Capacity and Microsimulation AnalysisSafety Studies and Crash Predictive AnalysisTraffic Volume Development and ForecastingTraffic Studies
- Serve as a leader delivering traffic engineering services for NCDOT, SCDOT, City of Charlotte, and other local clients.Actively manage projects and discipline specific tasks including performing project management activities (project scope, schedule, budget, and quality management).Administer quality management plans and perform thorough, detailed reviews of project deliverables.Assist in marketing responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities.People development including supervising and/or mentoring junior engineering associates.
- ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.PE LicenseMinimum 7 years of traffic engineering experience including proven technical leadership (decision-making on technical matters).Proficient in production and traffic software including HCS, Synchro, Sidra, TransModeler, and MicroStation.Possess strong oral and written communication skills and can effectively interact and build strong relationships with team members, clients, and other key stakeholders.Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification preferred.
