Radiology Tech - Tri County Ortho

Position Summary

The Registered Radiological Technician is responsible for preparing patients for physician exams / treatment, assisting physician, performing diagnostic imaging / tests and providing patient education and maintenance of clinical area.

Department Summary

Orthopedic and Sports Medicine practice with high volume of surgical patients.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Accredited Radiological Technician Program
  • Certified or registered Radiological Technician, or equivalent Ohio license
  • Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required
  • Prior medical experience encouraged
  • Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required
  • Knowledge of current radiology policies and procedures as well as knowledge and use of resources necessary to maintain quality and cost-efficient services

  • Self-motivated with ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively and motivate others

Department Skills

  • Prepares patients for physician exam
  • Performs diagnostic imaging / test as ordered by physician
  • Manages clinical data

  • Assists with general office duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of the office

Working Conditions

  • Work eight to nine hours a day
  • Shifts are variable to volume of department. Rotation may be needed
  • Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate floor coverage
  • Cross training in all areas in the department is required
  • Staff may be assigned to different locations within the foundation

Hazardous Exposure Category

Category II - Includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues by exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate protective measures will be readily available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks.
