About This Position

Certified Nursing Assistant (Float)

Guided by the Nurse Manager or Director and working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) delivers compassionate, age-specific care that supports the overall patient experience. This hands-on role includes assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and performing clinical procedures—all while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The CNA plays a vital role in communicating patient needs and promptly reporting any changes in condition to the nursing team or physician. With a strong focus on collaboration and attention to detail, the CNA also ensures accurate documentation in the medical record, helping to provide seamless, high-quality care across the healthcare team.
FLAT Hourly Rate: $24.00
Qualifications
Education:
  • Prefers a High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
  • Prefer at least one (1) year of relevant nursing assistant or healthcare-related experience.
Specialized Training:
  • Must successfully complete approved Valleywise Health computer classes.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Requires licensure through the AZ Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months.
  • Ambulatory Clinics/Desert Vista - Unit 2 Adolescent: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people.
  • Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
  • Must be able to float to all departments as needed.
  • Must be able to meet the conditions as stated in the employment agreement.
