Talantage is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our client's healthcare team at a correctional facility in Maryland. This role offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful care in a structured, secure environment while working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals.
The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will work under the supervision of a physician and be responsible for comprehensive patient care, including assessments, diagnosis, and ongoing treatment management.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in collaboration with supervising physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Conduct physical and psychiatric assessments, obtain medical histories, and evaluate presenting concerns.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical and psychiatric conditions.
• Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Document clinical encounters and maintain accurate medical records.
• Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients within the correctional healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Maryland APRN (Nurse Practitioner) license or Physician Assistant license.
• Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification/license required for NP candidates.
• Current DEA registration with prescriptive authority.
• 2+ years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (correctional, psychiatric, or primary care experience preferred).
• Ability to successfully pass a background check.
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a team-based environment.
