About This Position
POSITION: HOUSEKEEPER
FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Housekeeper to join our team at Bay 9 Holdings LLC dba Edgemere located in Dallas, Texas. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas, such as resident homes, common areas, dining room and other locations in the community. The Housekeeper performs cleaning duties adhering to approved department cleaning procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions:
- Clean assigned resident homes and common community areas to include cleaning and disinfecting washrooms, cleaning floors and dusting.
- Deliver appropriate care of residents’ belongings for purposes of cleaning, organizing, and storing.
- Execute timely cleaning duties when a resident has been transferred or moved-out and prepare rooms quickly and efficiently for new occupant.
- Always maintain an organized and stocked work cart while ensuring that chemicals are properly labeled and stored, and the work cart is locked when in common areas or while unattended.
- Follow cleaning practices for isolation rooms using appropriate infection control and isolation guidelines as indicated by department cleaning procedures.
- Initiate request for supplies and equipment needs to supervisor, as well as confirm chemicals are labeled and stored correctly.
- Assist other departments with cleaning and other housekeeping assignments.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- No educational requirement. Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements and follow written and oral instructions.
- No experience required. A willingness to learn is needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors, and team members.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: The physical responsibilities of this position constantly require effective climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, smelling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. This position often involves medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned or make general observations of the community; close visual acuity, such as reading printed material, inspection of small defects, and using measurement devices; perform activities with visual acuity within arm’s reach such as operating machines. The functions of this position are conducted in a temperature controlled environment and not substantially exposed to adverse environment conditions and may be routinely be exposed to noise, vibration, working hazards such as proximity to moving parts, mechanical equipment, exposure to heat, exposure to chemicals, work in close quarters, narrow aisles or passage ways, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, cleaning chemicals, dust, odors and a variety of pets.
INTELLECTUAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The occupant of this position must be able to perform the responsibilities of the position well under pressure. The position requires adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. This position requires the ability to deal with and find resolution to problems and maintain a productive working relationship with team members and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of others. It also requires adaptability to fluctuate between priorities daily while being responsive to needs as they arise.
