Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent and 7 years related experience or Master's degree in basic science or equivalent and 5 years related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Solid research experience with a PhD or MD, along with a strong publication record, particularly within the past five years and expertise in cell biology, mechanistic studies, retinal organoid culture, omics, and/or bioinformatics.
Job Description:
Senior Research Associate oversees the daily activities and work assignments of the research staff.
Job Duties:
The position involves investigating the role of aging and inflammation in neurodegeneration of the retina and brain, with the goal of identifying novel mechanisms and therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities include conducting non-invasive imaging, functional testing, histological analyses, molecular biology, and biochemical studies. Under the supervision of Dr. Zhang, the researcher will design and perform experiments, analyze data, and disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
