Transport Driver / Facilities Tech at SYSTEMS FOR PUBLIC SAFETY INC – Lakewood, Washington

Systems for Public Safety, Inc. (SPS) is a Ford QVM automotive "up-fitter”, and maintenance facility dedicated to serving police and fire fleets. We up fit vehicles for cities and counties all over Washington, Oregon and Alaska. We also complete vehicle maintenance and repair on emergency vehicles for our local cities and precincts.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, task oriented, who can execute job responsibilities with little to no direction to join our team as a Transport Driver / Facilities Tech.

The primary role will be to transport both wrecked emergency vehicles from the customer to SPS as well as deliver newly finished up fitted vehicles from SPS to the customer.

When there are no deliveries that require the transport truck, you will be responsible for local pickups / deliveries to / from local police agencies and sublet vendors, picking up parts / freight from local vendors, checking vehicles in, keeping the lot organized, assist the warehouse with general housekeeping and / or other tasks as needed.

This role will require someone who enjoys driving, is friendly with excellent customer service, and is interested in learning new things.

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

- Clean driving record with no major violations

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial truck driving

- Ability to operate and maintain various types of commercial vehicles

- Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance

- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening

- Strong knowledge of road safety and traffic laws

- Ability to read maps and use GPS for route planning

- Excellent time management and organizational skills

- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

- High school diploma or GED
