About This Position
Assists physician during cases while operating a variety of complex radiologic imaging equipment including fluoroscopy, digital subtraction angiography, ultrasonography and cone beam CT application within the Interventional Radiologic suite.
Prep the patient and prepare supplies under sterile conditions for the procedure. Scrub in with the physician and assist in performing procedure if needed.
Accurately obtains x-rays for the exams while being respectful to the patient’s abilities and safety issues.
Operates automatic injectors and selects the appropriate contrast agent for the patient and the exam under the direction of the Interventionalist.
In collaboration with other staff, provides patient care during examinations.
Responsible for equipment maintenance and use including, but not limited to, recognizing, troubleshooting, reporting, and documenting equipment malfunctions along with coordinating borrowing equipment from other departments.
Cross train to another service area (CCL, EP, Hybrid OR, Endoscopy, etc.)
Work independently on-call with department physicians and nurse.
Responsibilities
- 2+ years of experience as an IR technologist supporting complex body and neuro interventional radiology procedures. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven IR technologist knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Cardiac Interventional and/or Vascular Interventional certification from ASRT
