Patient Care and Observation Technician at Scotland Memorial Hospital – Laurinburg, North Carolina

The Patient Care and Observation Technician (PCOT) performs selected patient care tasks, under the direction of a licensed nurse, to assist in the delivery of patient care. Performs, when necessary, clerical duties and assists the Emergency Center/Inpatient staff in maintaining records and completing reports. Coordinates communications between Emergency Center/Inpatient staff, the patient, and interdisciplinary departments. Is accountable for all patient care in the Emergency Center/Inpatient Departments.

Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalency, current NC CNA listing and CPR required, prior behavioral health training. One year experience in hospital setting, preferably critical care and behavioral health experience.
