About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Mid-level PHP Laravel Developer to lead backend development for our Remittance and FinTech platforms. This role involves architecting secure, scalable, and high-performance systems that support global money transfers, user account management, KYC/AML compliance, and real-time transaction processing.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, frontend developers, and QA to deliver mission-critical financial applications with a strong focus on security, data integrity, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of backend services and APIs using Laravel and related PHP frameworks.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable architectures for remittance processing, wallets, and transaction engines.
• Integrate with third-party APIs (payment gateways, KYC/AML services, FX providers, banking interfaces).
• Implement secure authentication systems, user access controls, and audit trails.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, and data accuracy in high-volume environments.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
• Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and mentoring of junior developers.
• Stay updated on financial compliance requirements, encryption protocols, and evolving FinTech trends.

Required Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of experience in PHP development, with a strong focus on Laravel (v8+).
• Proven experience developing platforms in the Remittance or FinTech domain.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API development, OAuth2/JWT authentication, and API security.
• Strong database skills with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and normalization.
• Experience working with message queues, job scheduling, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Redis, Laravel Queues, RabbitMQ).
• Solid understanding of KYC, AML, transaction monitoring, and financial audit requirements.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and Agile development practices.
