Front End Software Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Front End Software Engineer in United States.

The Front End Software Engineer will play a key role in building and evolving a cutting-edge web-based platform that enables scientists to design, execute, and analyze complex experiments entirely from a browser. This role sits at the intersection of advanced software engineering and scientific innovation, delivering intuitive and high-performance user experiences for research workflows. You will contribute to the development of collaborative tools, experiment design interfaces, and workflow management systems used by researchers worldwide. Working in a small, fast-moving team, you will have strong ownership over features and direct impact on product direction. The environment is highly collaborative, closely aligned with design and backend engineering teams. This position offers the opportunity to shape both product architecture and engineering practices in a rapidly evolving tech stack.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern front-end applications that power scientific experimentation workflows. You will build intuitive user interfaces and contribute to end-to-end feature delivery in close collaboration with design and engineering teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining web-based applications using React, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks to support complex scientific workflows
  • Building responsive, high-quality user interfaces for experiment design, tracking, and data analysis tools
  • Collaborating closely with UX and design teams to translate user needs into seamless and visually polished experiences
  • Contributing to architecture decisions and improving frontend engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, and performance optimization
  • Supporting integration with backend services and evolving platform capabilities in a cloud and desktop environment
  • Participating in agile development cycles, owning features end-to-end, and continuously improving product quality and usability
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings hands-on frontend development experience and a strong product mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. You should be comfortable working closely with design teams and taking ownership of complex features. Key qualifications include:

  • 3–4+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on frontend development
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
  • Solid experience with React and Redux or comparable modern frontend frameworks
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience building responsive, user-centric web applications with attention to performance and usability
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially in cross-functional teams including design
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and frontend quality tools is a plus (e.g., Cypress, Storybook, Percy, Chromatic)
  • Bonus: Experience with Electron or desktop application development
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and market standards
  • Fully remote work within the United States
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge scientific software impacting real-world research
  • Collaborative, innovation-driven engineering culture with strong design partnership
  • Exposure to modern and evolving tech stacks across frontend, cloud, and desktop environments
  • Career growth opportunities in a high-ownership, high-impact engineering team
  • Dynamic environment where engineers influence product direction and technical decisions.
