SUMMARY: The Commercial Landscape Construction Crew Member is responsible for supporting the installation of commercial landscape construction projects. Working under the direction of the Foreman, this role performs a variety of labour and installation tasks including site preparation, grading, hardscape installation, and planting. The Crew Member contributes to safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Construction ExecutionPerform general labour duties on commercial landscape construction sites.
Assist with site preparation, including excavation, grading, and material removal.
Install hardscape elements such as paving stones, retaining walls, and edging.
Support softscape installation including trees, shrubs, sod, and seed.
Follow layout, grade, and elevation direction provided by the Foreman.
Complete work in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and company standards.
Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites.
Assist in identifying deficiencies or issues and report to the Foreman.
Ensure proper handling and installation of materials to prevent damage or rework.
Operate hand tools and small equipment (cut-off saws, plate compactors, etc.).
Assist with loading/unloading materials, tools, and equipment.
Perform basic equipment care, cleaning, and daily checks.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Use required PPE at all times.
Participate in tailgate meetings and hazard identification.
Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately.
Support team members and Foreman to meet project timelines and productivity targets.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude on-site.
Perform other duties as assigned.
From November through April, Park Landscaping transitions its primary operations to comprehensive snow and ice management. During this period, all roles adapt to support our winter service commitments. Due to the unpredictable nature of Alberta weather, this position requires a flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays during significant snow events to ensure the safety of our clients’ properties.
QUALIFICATIONS:Experience: Previous landscape construction or general labour experience considered an asset
Willingness to learn construction methods and techniques
- Education & Certification: Valid driver’s license considered an asset
- WHMIS and basic safety certifications preferred or willingness to obtain
Regulatory Knowledge: Basic understanding of safe work practices on construction sites
Systems & Technical Experience: Ability to safely use hand tools and basic construction equipment
Willingness to learn grading, layout, and installation techniques
Work ethic and reliability

Ability to follow direction
Attention to detail
Physical stamina
Safety awareness
Physically demanding work including lifting, carrying, digging, and equipment operation
Continuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions
