Position Summary:

Lifesteps is seeking a Disability Services Program Specialist (known as Instructor / Program Specialist at Lifesteps) to work with individuals who have special needs at the Adult Training Facility in Kittanning, PA. The role will assist in the development of Individual Goal Plans (ISP's) that ensure the needs and wishes of the individuals are met. The full-time role also works hands on with the individuals with disabilities in the Day Program and coordinates/assists with community participation as well.

Office administration is also a main duty of the position, as the role completes and maintains documentation, ISPs, and reports for the program.

Program Specialists ensure compliance with 2380 and Chapter 11 regulations.

Schedule - Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. No evenings, No weekends, No holidays!

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Associate’s degree OR 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years’ experience working directly with persons with disabilities. Degrees related to Education, Special Education, Counseling, Therapy, Psychology, Sociology, Social Services, Transition Programming, Nursing, Health Administration, or similar are preferred, but any major qualifies
• Possess a valid driver's license which legally permits operating a motor vehicle in Pennsylvania.
• Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) - provided by Lifetsteps.

Preferred:

• Master's degree and 1 year of experience working directly with persons with disabilities
• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of direct care experience
• Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators Certificate (ACRE)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
