Job Summary:
The Registered Dietitian will lead community nutrition education and food access programming at RWJUH Hamilton in accordance with the RWJBH Community Health project. This position will be responsible for overseeing Hamilton's Food Farmacy program and corresponding nutrition education.The ideal applicant for this position should be energetic and passionate about nutrition education and food insecurity as it relates to the social determinants of health.
Essential Job Functions:
- Overseeing Hamilton's Food Farmacy program in partnership with Mercer Street Friends or MSF
- This includes food procurement and networking with MSF to maximize program participation
- Completes nutrition assessments while providing the highest quality service and follows up in a timely manner as per policy and procedure
- Demonstrates effective time management skills
- Documents appropriate nutrition history and nutritional care in writing in the EMR
- Organizing and teaching child and adult nutrition education programs at RWJUH Hamilton
- Developing nutrition education activities and handouts
- Coordinate programming and enrollment with multi-disciplinary team
- Records and analyzes data points related to behavior change, food frequency assessments, pantry utilization statistics and more
- Manages program expenses in accordance with grant funding
- Engages grant funders and other community stakeholders and helps procure and leverage key partnerships that broaden community impact,
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Knowledge of food access challenges in the community and federal food assistance programs including SNAP, WIC, SFMNP and CACFP
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:

Masters Degree in Nutrition or Public Health preferred

Two year s experience in nutrition education and group teaching is preferred

ServSafe certification preferred

Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Certified Registered Dietitian Nutritionist accredited through CDR Required
