Director, Clinical Pharmacology

This senior scientific leadership role sits at the intersection of clinical pharmacology, quantitative modeling, and drug development strategy. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to shape and execute clinical pharmacology programs that directly inform regulatory decisions and development pathways from early translation through late-stage development. The role blends deep scientific expertise with strategic influence, requiring strong engagement with global clients, regulatory authorities, and internal experts across functions. You will help define innovative, data-driven approaches that improve the probability of success in drug development. Operating in a highly collaborative, science-driven environment, you will translate complex pharmacological data into actionable clinical strategies. Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead the design, strategy, and execution of clinical pharmacology and quantitative drug development programs while ensuring scientific rigor and regulatory alignment.

  • Lead and collaborate with internal teams and external clients to develop clinical pharmacology strategies supporting development decisions from IND to NDA/BLA stages
  • Apply and advance quantitative modeling and simulation approaches to inform clinical trial design and optimize development strategies
  • Represent clients in interactions with global regulatory agencies and advisory meetings as a clinical pharmacology subject matter expert
  • Author and contribute to clinical pharmacology documentation including study reports, regulatory submissions, and scientific publications
  • Interpret DMPK, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacometric data to guide clinical development decisions and strategy evolution
  • Lead or contribute to business development activities, including scoping, proposal development, and client engagement
  • Mentor and develop junior scientists while fostering cross-functional collaboration across clinical, biostatistics, CMC, and toxicology teams
Requirements

This position requires deep expertise in clinical pharmacology and drug development, combined with strong leadership and client-facing capabilities.

  • PhD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced degree in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, or related scientific field; MS with extensive relevant experience may be considered
  • 7–12+ years of experience in clinical pharmacology within pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulatory environments
  • Strong background in clinical pharmacology study design, translational science, and regulatory submissions (IND, NDA, BLA, sNDA/sBLA)
  • Experience applying pharmacometric methods, modeling, and simulation to clinical development questions
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex drug development programs
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary drug development including clinical, CMC, biostatistics, and pharmacology/toxicology domains
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior scientists and contribute to capability building within teams
  • Business development or client engagement experience in a consulting or partnership-driven environment is a strong plus
