Grinding Support Associate in Rancho Cordova, California at Tri Tool, Inc.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Tri Tool Grinding Operations Team, the individual will support the production of precision tool bits used in Tri Tool machines. This is an entry-level role focused primarily on deburring, marking, and finishing of tool bits, with structured on-the-job training toward operating grinding equipment and advancing into full tool bit manufacturing. The role also includes using grinding machines for cutting parts to length and squaring operations. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented individual with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

· Deburr and finish precision tool bits to ensure quality and safety standards are met.*

· Mark and label tool bits per production requirements and engineered drawings.*

· Operate grinding machines for cutting stock to length and squaring parts.*

· Support grinding operators and learn tool bit manufacturing processes through hands-on training.*

· Route and organize stock in designated storage areas.*

· Learn and maintain knowledge of fixtures and basic grinding techniques.*

· Perform routine equipment inspections and assist with basic machine maintenance.*

· Support production scheduling and workflow as directed by supervisior.*

· Manage time effectively to meet daily production goals.*

· Perform additional duties as assigned.*

MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS:

• Ability to work safely and follow all safety policies involving proper use of equipment and tools.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools (rulers, calipers, micrometers) or willingness to learn.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic production environment.

PREERRED QUALIFUCATIONS:

• Any hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, or shop environment.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or light machinery.
• Technical or vocational training in machining or related field

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED required. Additional technical training or on-the-job experience is a plus but not required.

PHYSCAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lift / move materials, tooling, and components up to 50 lbs; assistance required above that weight.
• Stand for extended periods while operating grinding equipment.
• Perform fine motor work and precise hand positioning for cutter grinder operations.
• Viewing computer screen/monitor; utilizing keyboard for work orders and data entry.
• Answering phone / using shop communication devices.
• Use of required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators or dust masks as needed).WORK ENVIRONMENT:

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Fast-paced, high-energy grinding / fabrication shop with exposure to heat, fumes, grinding dust, loud noise, and moving mechanical equipment. Work involves manual and automated grinding equipment, sanding and deburring tools, and general machine shop hazards. PPE required in designated areas.
