Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to support installation, startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution equipment in critical environments. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, traveling to customer sites, and resolving complex electrical issues.
You will act as a key technical resource in the field, ensuring systems operate safely and reliably while maintaining strong communication with both customers and internal teams.
What Youll DoSystem Installation & Startup- Assist with installation and commissioning of electrical distribution equipment
- Perform system checks, validation, and functional testing
- Configure and support HMI and control interfaces
- Ensure all work aligns with applicable electrical codes and safety standards
- Troubleshoot and repair issues involving 3-phase systems, transformers, and distribution equipment
- Interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams to diagnose problems
- Perform root cause analysis in active operational environments
- Serve as the on-site technical point of contact
- Work closely with engineering and support teams to resolve technical challenges
- Provide guidance and basic training to customer personnel
- Deliver clear updates on system status, findings, and next steps
- Complete detailed service documentation and reports
- Track labor, materials, and service activities accurately
- Identify repeat issues and recommend improvements
- Contribute to internal documentation and training resources
- 3–7+ years of experience in field service, electrical maintenance, or similar roles
- Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with 24V, 120V, and 480V systems
- Basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge
- Experience working with breakers, fuses, transformers, and related components
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Willingness to travel frequently (75% or more)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet pre-employment screening requirements
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Exposure to data center or critical power environments
- Experience with switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, or similar equipment
- Commissioning or startup support experience
- OSHA or formal safety training
- A self-directed technician who can work independently in the field
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on safety and quality
- Professional communication skills in customer-facing situations
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented approach to work
