Job Summary

A Child's Place is seeking an on site, full-time older toddler teacher to join our Toddler Team. This is a collaborative role working with other toddler teaching staff with children age 2-3. Our educators are responsible for the academic, social, emotional, gross and fine motor development of our students using our provided curriculum and a learning through play teaching style. Toddler teachers work as a team to design and implement lessons, daily activities and learning opportunities for our young students to gain skills and independence.

The ideal Toddler Teacher would work well with a team, share responsibilities, participate in day to day ongoings and be comfortable leading a small group of 12 children independently. Our staff are also responsible for building positive relationships with parents and assisting students through lunch and nap time, toileting and potty training.

Primary Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the supervision and daily classroom functions of a group of children.
• Adhere to regulations of the Department of Human Services and ACP policies and procedures.
• Plan and implement approved lessons, activities and daily schedule in accordance with ACP curriculum.
• Build a partnership with the parents and families of the children in your care.
• Accept all responsibilities for cleanliness of the classroom and common areas of the center.
• Work collaboratively with co-teachers and management team.
• Promote positive work environment.
• Maintain professional personal appearance, personnel file and professional development plan, adhering to the guidelines with ACP Employee Handbook.
• Attend required staff meetings and complete necessary trainings.
• Assists in other capacities as needed by Director or Assistant Director.

• High School Diploma *Required
• 2 years (2,500 hours) of documented experience working with children specifically with children. *Required
• Associates or BA in Early Childhood/Education or Human Services Field. * Required
• Ability to obtain all childcare clearances and additional information for childcare compliance. **We will assist all candidates in obtaining their documents for childcare compliance**

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 40 lbs.
• Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping.
• Climb up and down stairs.
• Have the mobility required to ensure the safety of the children.
• Work with children on the floor.
• Work outdoors in any variety of weather.
• Have visual and hearing capabilities that allow consistent supervision of children with DHS licensing safety requirements.
• Perform light duty cleaning.
• Light typing and word processing
