Role Description

Oversee warehouse operations, shipping and receiving activities, and indirect materials purchasing to ensure material availability, inventory accuracy, and efficient execution of logistics processes in support of site production and business needs.

Key duties and responsibilities, other duties may be assigned

  • Controls the flow of raw and finished goods, services, and information from point of origin through receipt at the manufacturing site and through to customer placement to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.
  • Oversees warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, and indirect procurement activities.
  • Ensures execution and continuous improvement of logistics processes, including replenishment systems, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration, and related functions.
  • Ensures customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints to support marketing and financial objectives.
  • Build relationships with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers through resolution of delivery issues.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse and logistics operations.
  • Partners with site leadership and cross-functional teams optimize logistics performance and service levels.
  • Leads and mentor hourly warehouse and logistics team members.
  • Maintains compliance with company standards, safety expectations, and operational procedures.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma, Vocational Diploma, or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Logistics, or equivalent experience; OR
  • Associate’s Degree with 5+ years of experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience supervising logistics or warehouse operations in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience leading or mentoring hourly warehouse or logistics team members preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting shipping coordination and preferred freight carriers.
  • Background in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, or 5S preferred.

Competencies & Skills

  • You must be comfortable with technology, and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint; as well as Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate situations and prioritize decision-making factors

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • Must be able to sit and/or drive for long periods of time when traveling
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (8-15 hours) over multiple days
