ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Salon Channel Lead (DSO) to spearhead the growth of our professional portfolio across Eastern Europe, with a strong focus on Poland. This role carries full commercial ownership of the salon channel, driving strategic partnerships with our partners and customers, shaping Joint Business Plans (JBP), and ensuring flawless execution in-market. It’s a highly strategic and cross-functional position, ideal for someone passionate about beauty, professional education, and commercial excellence in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Own the salon channel strategy across DSO and distributors, delivering market share growth and achieving annual Gross Sales (GS) and Net Revenue (NR) targets.
- Lead the development and execution of Joint Business Plans (JBP) by brand and key account, ensuring alignment on strategic priorities and measurable KPIs.
- Build and maintain senior-level partnerships with DSOs and distributors to secure best-in-class visibility, education programs, and sell-thru performance.
- Design and implement channel-specific activation calendars, including promotional depth, frequency, and education-led initiatives to drive salon engagement.
- Champion Wella’s 5P strategy (Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People) across all salon touchpoints, ensuring consistency and excellence.
- Drive successful innovation launches, ensuring readiness through education and in-salon activation.
- Manage and optimize trade investment budgets with a rigorous ROI mindset, reallocating funds based on performance and strategic priorities.
- Monitor market dynamics and competitor activity, providing actionable insights for internal teams and external partners.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, portfolio, and strategic partnerships to unlock incremental growth.
- Leverage advanced analytics (sell-in/sell-out, salon performance, market trends) to anticipate risks and identify white space opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, education, finance, and supply chain to translate strategic priorities into flawless execution.
- Inspire and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and commercial excellence.
- Serve as the voice of the salon professional, ensuring commercial readiness and superior service levels across product availability and education.
- Conduct regular market visits (~30% travel) to audit execution, gather insights, and strengthen relationships with salon stakeholders.
- Drive a partnership mindset with our customers, positioning Wella as the preferred professional partner.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Fluency in English for daily collaboration in an international environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- 8–10 years of progressive commercial experience in professional beauty sector, with proven success in salon channel leadership and / or relationship marketing and sales.
- Track record managing direct sales organization, incl. strategic negotiations & partnership building.
- Proven ability to design and execute JBPs with value, volume, and profitability KPIs.
- Strong commercial acumen with deep knowledge of salon channel dynamics and professional trends.
- Advanced P&L management skills, incl. forecasting, pricing, and ROI-driven investment decisions.
- Capability to identify and unlock white space opportunities within the salon channel.
- Leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams; ability to inspire and influence across functions.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills with DSOs and distributors.
- Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution, ensuring flawless in-salon activation and education programs.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, leveraging tools like Nielsen, Euromonitor, and salon performance analytics.
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with CRM and salon management platforms is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Proficiency in an Eastern European language (e.g., Polish, Romanian, Hungarian, Czech) is a strong plus.
- Entrepreneurial, agile, and resourceful mindset with high ownership and accountability.
- Adaptable to diverse markets, culturally aware, and resilient under pressure.
- Willingness to travel (~30%) across the region for market visits and partner engagement.
